Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum length of a charter?
Our shortest charter is a 3-hour sunset cruise. Day charters are typically 5-8 hours. Overnight charters start from 2 days / 1 night, and multi-day voyages of up to 7 nights are available on select vessels.
What are the payment terms?
A deposit of 50% is required upon booking. The remaining balance is due 14 days before the charter date. Payments can be made via bank transfer, credit card (+3% processing fee), or PayPal (+4.4% processing fee). For bookings made within 14 days of the charter, full payment is required at time of booking.
Do I have to pay VAT?
Yes. All charter prices are subject to 7% Thai VAT, which will be added to the quoted charter price.
What is included in the charter price?
All charters include: professional crew (captain, deckhand, and hostess on larger vessels), soft drinks, ice, water, seasonal fruits, snacks, snorkelling equipment, towels, life jackets, Bluetooth sound system, passenger accident insurance, fuel, and 7% VAT. Larger yachts (51ft+) typically also include lunch, beer, wine, paddle boards, water toys, and minivan transfers. Check each vessel listing for the full inclusions.
Do I need to tip the crew?
Tipping is not mandatory but is greatly appreciated. A customary gratuity is 5-10% of the charter cost. The best way is to give it directly to the captain, who will distribute it amongst the crew.
Can I specify food and dietary requirements?
Absolutely. Prior to your charter we will share a booking form where you can note culinary and religious preferences, allergies, medical requirements, and any special requests for water toys and activities. Vegetarian, vegan, halal, and kosher options can be arranged.
Am I covered by insurance?
All vessels carry comprehensive marine insurance and passenger accident insurance as required by Thai maritime law. We recommend guests also carry their own personal travel and health insurance to cover cancellation, medical evacuation, hospital costs, and curtailment.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made 30+ days before the charter receive a full refund minus a 10% admin fee. Cancellations 15-30 days before forfeit the 50% deposit. Cancellations within 14 days are non-refundable. If weather conditions are unsafe, the captain may alter the itinerary or reschedule at no extra cost. Henley Voyages reserves the right to cancel for safety reasons with a full refund offered.
Can I bring my own alcohol onboard?
This varies by vessel. Some boats allow guests to bring their own beverages with no corkage charge (e.g. the Power Cat 75). Others include beer and wine in the charter price. For vessels where alcohol is not included, we can arrange provisioning at retail prices. Ask us when booking.
Can I put my yacht into charter with Henley Voyages?
Yes. Henley Voyages offers yacht management services for owners looking to generate charter revenue from their vessel. We handle marketing, bookings, crew management, maintenance coordination, and guest services. Contact us to discuss your vessel.

Terms & Conditions
1. Booking & Confirmation
All charter bookings are subject to availability and are confirmed only upon receipt of the required deposit payment. A booking confirmation will be sent via email. By making a booking, the charterer agrees to these Terms & Conditions on behalf of all guests in their party.
2. Payment Terms
A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total charter fee is due at time of booking. The remaining 50% balance is due no later than 14 days prior to the charter date. For bookings made within 14 days of departure, full payment is required immediately. Payments may be made by bank transfer (preferred), credit card (+3% processing fee), or PayPal (+4.4% processing fee). All prices are quoted in Thai Baht (THB) exclusive of 7% VAT, which will be added to the final invoice.
3. Cancellation Policy
By the Charterer: Cancellations made more than 30 days before departure will receive a refund of the deposit minus a 10% administrative fee. Cancellations made 15-30 days before departure will forfeit the full deposit (50%). Cancellations made within 14 days of departure are non-refundable. No-shows are non-refundable.
By Henley Voyages: In the event of mechanical failure, unsafe weather conditions, or force majeure, Henley Voyages reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the charter. In such cases, a full refund or alternative date will be offered at the charterer's discretion.
4. Weather & Itinerary Changes
The captain has absolute authority over navigation, safety, and itinerary decisions. If weather or sea conditions are deemed unsafe, the captain may alter the route, change the destination, shorten the trip, or return to port. No refund is provided for itinerary changes made for safety reasons. If conditions prevent departure entirely, the charter will be rescheduled or refunded in full.
5. Guest Conduct & Responsibilities
Guests must follow the captain and crew's instructions at all times, particularly regarding safety. The charterer is responsible for the behaviour of all guests in their party. Illegal activities, illicit substances, and weapons are strictly prohibited onboard. Damage to the vessel or equipment caused by negligence or misconduct will be charged to the charterer at full replacement or repair cost. Henley Voyages reserves the right to terminate the charter without refund if guest behaviour endangers the safety of the vessel, crew, or other guests.
6. National Park & Island Fees
National park entry fees (currently 300-400 THB per adult, 150-200 THB per child at most parks) are payable directly at the park and are not included in the charter price unless explicitly stated. The captain will advise on applicable fees for your chosen itinerary.
7. Insurance & Liability
All vessels carry comprehensive marine insurance and passenger accident insurance as required by Thai maritime law. Henley Voyages and its vessel operators are not liable for loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings. We strongly recommend all guests carry their own travel insurance covering medical expenses, evacuation, cancellation, and personal liability. Guests participate in water activities (swimming, snorkelling, jet skiing) at their own risk.
8. Maximum Capacity & Extra Guests
Each vessel has a maximum licensed capacity which cannot be exceeded under any circumstances. Extra guests above the base quoted number are charged per person (rates vary by vessel and are listed on each boat's detail page). For overnight charters, the maximum sleeping capacity is lower than the day charter capacity. Children under 2 years are free; children aged 2-11 count as full passengers for capacity purposes.
9. Food, Beverages & Special Requests
Standard food and beverage inclusions are listed on each vessel's charter page. Special dietary requirements, additional catering, premium alcohol, and custom provisioning can be arranged with advance notice (minimum 48 hours). Costs for additional provisions beyond the standard inclusions will be quoted separately. Guests may bring their own beverages on select vessels (corkage policy varies by boat).
10. Photography & Media
Henley Voyages may use photos and videos taken during charters for marketing purposes unless the charterer requests otherwise in writing prior to departure.
11. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Phuket, Thailand.
